No Longer Suffering from
Hypothyroidism or Hypoglycemia
For the past three and a half years, I
had been having problems with headaches, fatigue and dizzy spells. All my life I
have been a very high-energy person. I had always stayed in shape through
exercise, and been one of those people who rarely needed coffee to get going,
even though I bounce out of bed at 5:00 am. I always had several different
things going on, a woodworking project here, a computer program there, an
upcoming event I was planning.
But after a couple difficult changes in my life, I began to feel periodically
"run down". The first couple weeks I thought
that
perhaps I had some kind of flu, and tapered off the exercise. Weeks turned into
months, and months turned into years. It was getting harder and harder to find
the energy to exercise or do activities I usually loved. My doctor thought it
might be Anxiety/depression. I began to see a psychiatrist who prescribed an
anti-anxiety medication. Over the months I saw some improvement, but it
plateaued rather quickly; I felt somewhat less lethargic but the sick spells
continued.
My wife was seeing Dr. Jantz for allergy related problems. When she suggested I
give this a try, I scoffed at the idea, but eventually her persistence (and
seeing her actually improve) led me to finally give it a try.
Over the past 8 months I have learned a great deal about what works and doesn't
for me. Dr. Jantz educated me on what foods were "triggers" for me. He found out
that I have hypothyroidism as well as being hypoglycemic. Some simple changes to
my diet, as well as supplements targeted towards my specific deficiencies did
wonders.
My energy level is now back up to where it used to be. I'm feeling great, and as
long as I don't splurge on foods I shouldn’t be eating, I never feel sick or
dizzy.
An added surprise is that although I've always been high energy, I have battled
a weight problem for as long as I can remember. With the changes in my diet, the
extra pounds slowly came off over the next several months without any added
effort on my part.
