My Daughters
Thyroid is No Longer Failing Her; Giving Her a New Start at Life!
This is a success story about my eight-year-old daughter. Until the age of 6,
our daughter had enjoyed good health. When she was in 1st grade, we noticed she
was gaining weight around her torso, we were told by her pediatrician that she
was probably going through a growth spurt; kids sometimes put on extra weight
before growing taller. By 2nd grade, she was probably ten pounds heavier than
she should have been for her height. We noticed other symptoms that included low
energy and motivation, carbohydrate cravings and near constant hunger, dry bumpy
skin, dry scalp and hair, and general puffiness. She also complained of being
cold most of the time. It really bothered me that her energy level was so poor.
She would participate in a sport or play with her friends, and feel wiped out
after a short
 time.
We went back to the pediatrician as I had concerns that she might be a diabetic
or have a problem with her thyroid, as her symptoms generally fit for this.
Again our pediatrician assured me that is was nothing to be concerned about, but
finally consented to perform blood work. But it was
clear to me that he was not particularly interested in making a diagnosis, but
rather in quieting a nagging mother.
Her blood results for low thyroid function were negative, meaning no problem
with the thyroid. I was relieved in one sense, but confused in another because I
wasn't convinced that my daughters' symptoms were *benign. When I asked him what
other course we should take, such as a specialist, or nutritional counseling, he
dismissed my suggestions, repeating, "she's just growing".
A friend of mine told me about *AHCC and I thank God for this every day because
every member of my family has experienced success through Dr. Jantz's
intervention. His treatment using *NRT, nutritional supplements and chiropractic
manipulation have returned Hanna's low thyroid, (on a scale of 0-10, 10 being
the best, her thyroid was at 0), and weak adrenal glands to normal function. He
explained the reason for the negative blood test is because there are other
things that can mask a low thyroid and this subtlety won't always reveal itself.
However, using NRT, he was able to detect the problem within minutes.
So, six months later, my daughter's weight is more appropriate to her height.
Her mood and energy levels are improved. Her bumpy dry skin is smooth and soft.
Her dry, straw-like hair is thick and soft again. Her appetite is normal and she
no longer craves carbohydrates. Although she does prefer them, she is willing to
try other foods now, which is a vast improvement from a diet of noodles, bagels,
mac-n-cheese, and pizza.
I also noticed a great improvement in our relationship too. I am proud of her
for sharing the responsibility to improve her health, and she no longer fights
me in taking her supplements (only 2 per day), because she says she feels
"stronger". We are looking for new ways to eat that don’t include sugar and
white flour and ice cream. She is more willing to try new things if she is the
on picking out and helping to prepare a new recipe.
I can't express my thanks enough and can't tell you how relieved I am that we
are under the care of Dr. Jantz. I felt guilty for so long because I felt
helpless to help my daughter feel her best. And as a parent, your children's
health is ALWAYS a priority. I had trusted my pediatrician with my daughter's
life since the day she was born and was so disappointed by the response I got
when it came to something that I thought was obviously wrong with her.
Chiropractic care and NRT are considered alternative methods for the treatment
of illness. But for our family and I, going to Dr, Jantz will always be our
first choice because he has consistently targeted our health problems quickly
and effectively. I feel that I am in control of my family's health and well
being because Dr. Jantz and his staff have given me the tools and knowledge to
do so.
